Unsolved crimes: Dec 14th to Dec 17th


1. Nanaimo file #2019-49858 Sometime overnight on Monday December 16th, a break and enter occurred at the Northfield Mini-storage, located at between 1640 Northfield Road. The suspect(s) cut through the gate and barbwire, leaving behind a bag full of tools. It is unknown at this time, what if anything was taken.

2. Nanaimo file # 2019049632 Sometime during the daylight hours on Saturday December 14th, a storage locker and three mailboxes, located at 3270 Ross Road were broken into. Taken from the storage locker was a set of black and white, junior size Reebok goalie pads, and it is unknown what may have been taken from the mailboxes.

3. Nanaimo file # 2019-49915 At approximately 4 pm on Monday December 16th, a push broom was stolen from the yard of a home in the 5100 block of Hammond Bay Road. Just prior to the theft, there was a knock on the door that went unanswered. The suspect (shown below) waited for a moment then picked up the broom and walked away with it. The suspects image was captured on video surveillance. He is described as white male, wearing a grey hoody and black hat.


4. Nanaimo file # 2019- 49621 Sometime overnight on Saturday December 14th a vehicle parked in the 7600 block of Lantzville Road was rummaged through and two bikes from the back yard were stolen. The stolen bikes were a 2013 black Specialized Stumpjumper with yellow trim and serial number 659551. The second bike was a black Norco VPS2 with green lettering. No serial number was provided. Taken from the vehicle that was rummaged through were insurance papers.

5. Nanaimo file # 2019-49686 Sometime on Saturday December 14th, a bike was stolen from a storage room within St Peters Catholic church, located on Machleary St. The bike is a 29 ” Giant Talon with black and orange/grey lettering. It also has blue chain guard and serial number C6CL0620.

6. Nanaimo file # 2019- 49940 Sometime between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm on Monday December 16th, a brown Valentino purse was stolen from the backseat of a vehicle parked on St George Crescent. The purse contained credit cards which were used unlawfully used just one hour later at three nearby businesses.

7. Nanaimo file # 2019-49889 Sometime overnight on Monday December 16th, a portable hammock and a patio furniture tarp was stolen from the backyard of a home in the 20 block of Cypress St.

8. Nanaimo file # 2019- 49651 Sometime between the 13th] and 14th of December, a vehicle parked at 2220 Bowen Road had its window smashed out and taken was a Dakine backpack and assorted fishing gear.
