The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating a break in in the 300 block of Machleary Drive that occurred between Sunday July 17th and Tuesday July 19th. Numerous rings, watches, cameras, jewelry, hard drives and electronics were taken.

 

Investigators believe thieves entered through a basement window. Forensic identification officers attended and were able to retrieve several items for further evaluation. Some of the more notable items taken include:

 

Electronics and watches:

  • 3 cameras -Canon EOS 60D and assorted lenses, Pentax Optex waterproof camera

  • 2 Samsung smartphones , Bose sound dock or ipod

  • MacBook Air , Hewlett Packard Laptop with a 17 inch screen

  • Timex expedition watch , Bulova Skeleton watch , gold engraved women's pocket watch from the early 20th century

    Rings and jewelry:

  • white gold wedding ring

  • square cut diamond with diamonds in setting (1940's)

  • massive gold ring with large amethyst

  • square cut opal gold band

  • small diamond set in platinum

  • hollow silver bracelet from Bali

  • silver wide mesh chain

  • gold link with heart and two gold sovereigns
