10-12-2009
Between Thursday December 3rd and Friday December 4th thieves stole high end equipment from a remote construction site on Nanaimo Lakes Rd.
The construction site is located one kilometer east of Gogo's sawmill situated along Nanaimo Lakes Rd. Thieves used a Komatsu front end loader at the site to break into a locked storage shed. Stolen were approximately $12 000 worth of HILTI cordless drills (five) and two Honda Generators Models 6500 and 2500. The generators , drills and other tools were then loaded into a pick up truck and taken from the site. Nearly one week later a similar incident occurred at the site and a 45 Gallon drum of Form oil was stolen - likely thought to be Diesel fuel by the thieves. Who ever is responsible for these thefts has in their possession keys to Komatsu Heavy Equipment.
