A male was punched and struck with a metal pole after 3 males burst into Watfield Ave home, Sunday January 10th at approximately 2 am.


The 55 year old male victim told police , he answered a knock at this front door and found 3 males, all wearing bandanas and one carrying a pipe. One of the suspects struck him then punched him in the face, causing him to momentarily lose consciousness. When he came to, the 3 were seen running out his front door and getting into a tan coloured car, parked across the street. The victim later discovered the suspects left with his black and silver Compaq computer, black Motorola Moto G cell phone, and his black leather wallet. The 55 year old victim was examined at hospital for a possible concussion and later released. 


The suspect who assaulted the victim was white, approximately 6 ft. 200 pounds and walked with a noticeable limp. He also wore a black skull bandana that covered his mouth. One of the other 2 males was white, described as being very thin and had blonde hair. 


"Investigators are following up with the victim and will be conducting inquiries in the neighbourhood. Although it is early in the investigation, it does not appear this was a random occurrence" said Constable Gary O'Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.
