Armed robbery of convenience store

Title: RCMP investigating armed robbery of convenience store
The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating an armed robbery involving a knife, at the James General Store located at 600 Victoria Rd, that occurred Sunday November 15th at 7:55 pm. The suspect male managed to take an undisclosed amount of cash from the till then fled on foot. Officers were on scene within minutes including a Police Services Dog but were unable to locate the individual. No one was injured in the incident.
Shortly before 8 pm , the suspect male, brandishing a long bladed knife or machete, entered the store and demanded the clerk hand over money from the till. The suspect grabbed a handful of cash then fled in a northerly direction toward Victoria Rd.
The suspect is described as follows:
  • possibly a Caucasian male
  • 6 ft. 3, muscular build, mid 30"s
  • grey scarf covering his face and dark sunglasses
  • gloves, dark puffy jacket, dark pant, dark toque
