Unsolved crimes

The following are active investigations from March 9 to March 23

1. Nanaimo file # 2015-7245 On March 19th the Golden Inn restaurant on Victoria Rd was broken into. The back door was pried open and a second door was ripped off its hinges. Both the alarm and phone systems were disabled. Taken was some cash and liquor.

 

2. Nanaimo file # 2015-6618 On March 12th a break and enter took place at unit 308-1912 Bowen Rd. The owner told police the unit had been empty for approximately 2 weeks and upon returning, realized the entire unit had been ransacked. Point of entry was the front door and it is unknown what exactly was taken.

 

3. Nanaimo file # 2015-6912 On March 15th the Community Garden located at Needham and Irwin St was broken into. The front door had been kicked in and taken were $200 in gardening tools.

 

4. Nanaimo file # 2015-6311 On March 9th twenty propane tanks were stolen from the Petro-Canada on Nicol St. The tanks were stored in a locked cage at the front of the store. 

 

5. Nanaimo file # 2015-7246 On March 19th a red Allied hydraulic breaker, valued between $5000 to $7000, was stolen from the side of the road on Bush St. A truck or crane would have been needed to move the piece of equipment as it weighs approximately 1000 pounds. The breaker is red and looks like a large jack hammer.

 

6. Nanaimo file # 2015-6360 On March 9th a school bus parked on Holland Drive had its electrical system destroyed, the main door smashed and handle broken. A fuel card and insurance papers were also taken.

 

7. Nanaimo file # 2015-6511 On March 11th a theft of wire and metal was reported at the Cedar Rapids Enterprises on Walsh Rd. A white Ford Contour with a broken passenger window was seen near the shop on several occasions in the past week.

 

8. Nanaimo file # 2015-7660 On March 24th at approximately 12:40 am a male was seen masturbating in Maffeo Sutton Park. The complainant told police he and his wife were walking along the seawall trying to get their youngest to fall sleep, when they came across the male. The suspect is possibly white, 20-30, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans
