Crimes of the week

IThe following crimes were committed from April 26th to May 12th. ifyo uhave information on who is responsible please call the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1=800-222-8477 or

      1.       Nanaimo RCMP file #2014- 10221 Overnight on the evening of Friday April 25th numerous cars and trucks parked on Mystic Way and Janelle Place had their tires slashed. All vehicles received one slash from a sharp edged object to the lower rim of the tire.

2.       Nanaimo file # 2014-10806 On Thursday May 1st a 2011 orange scooter was stolen from the front yard of a condo located at 999 Bowen Rd. Witnesses recall seeing a dark blue pickup leave the area with the scooter in the rear of the truck.

3.       Nanaimo file # 2014- 11086 On Sunday May 4th numerous vehicles parked along Lambert Ave and 6th St were keyed. All were keyed along their entire length.

4.       Nanaimo file # 2014-11314 Upon returning from a vacation the owner of a home in the 3600 block of Jingle Pot Rd found her home broken into.  Taken was a Toshiba laptop computer an jewelry.

5.       Nanaimo file # 2014-11868 Sometime on Friday May 12th unknown persons broke the outside pane window and French door of a secondary residence located in the 2500 block of Pylades Drive in Cedar. It appears the damage may have been caused by a pellet gun.

6.       Nanaimo file # 2014-11879 Sometime between May 7th and May 12th a home in the 600 block of Drake St was broken into. Taken was a blue Campbell- Hausfeld 1/3 hp compressor and a blue Mastercraft finish nailer, in a case.

7.       Nanaimo file # 2014-11843 Sometime overnight a vehicle parked in the 2500 block of Nadely Crescent was broken into. Thieves gained entry by a rear open window. Taken was some loose change.

8.       Nanaimo file # 2014-11862 Reported on this date but having occurred on May 6th at 12:30 PM was the theft of 16, twenty pound propane bottles from the 49th Parallel store in Cedar. Suspect vehicle is a small blue pickup, possibly a Chevy S10
