Would be robber picks wrong person to rob


A male who attempted to rob a jogger on Sunday April 14th might want to re-think his career path after the jogger successfully defended himself using his marial arts training to thwart the attack and the robber was last seen hobbling away empty handed.

The incident occurred Sunday April 14th at approximately 9:30 AM when a 17 year old male, out for a jog stopped for a moment to check his phone for messages.  While checking his messages, a male came out of some nearby bushes and demanded hte jogger hand his phone over.

The robber didn`t know but the male jogger possesses a black belt in karate and is trained in Brazalian Jiu Jitsu. The robber then punched the jogger in the face to back up his demands for the phone. Fearing for his safety, the jogger quickly turned things around and punched the robber several times in the head then executed a perfect hip threw with the robber landing hard on his back.

Sensing things weren`t going as planned the robber hobbled off and was last seen on 7th St heading towards Howard Ave.

The suspect is a white male , 25-35 years of age, 6 ft 2 ,stocky build and clean shaven. He was wearing a black hoody(pullled up) ,blue jeans and white runners.
