Distracted driving month in BC

18-02-2013
It is distracted driving month in British Columbia and drivers are urged to report drivers who continue to text or talk on their cell phones while driving.
Since the legislation was passed and came into effect on January 1,2010, police across BC have handed out more than 32,000 tickets for distracted driving. Statistics compiled by the ICBC and the RCMP show that distracted driving is now contributing to over 1/3 of all traffic fatalities. Last year alone,it caused 100 lives to be lost on BC highways and roads.

If you see some one using their phone, call the police and let them know what the license plate number is, a description of the person you saw, description of the vehicle and when you saw them using their phone.
